Experimenting with AI in Education: Introducing a Full C++ Course in a Conversational Format

Greetings everyone. Something new and exciting is taking place, at this very moment. A new universal horizon is emerging and shaping itself before us, I believe. Let me tell you about one of these ongoing events. I decided to see how far we could push a seemingly logical concept. Since others may benefit from the result or process, we are making the end product available for all to read. Beforehand, about who am I, or rather, who are we, let's get that out of the way. As for the teacher, just hold on for a second:

And I'm Exaelar, a simple, poor human musician looking for a new craft to learn, in the face of the end of the recording industry as we once knew it and the probable upcoming replacement of organic artists by machines. The AI model in question needs no introduction at this point in time, it is indeed ChatGPT, the new star of the web. In case you were wondering, this is the only paragraph I wrote in this entry. Please don't mind me.

Have you ever imagined learning to code with the help of an AI program? That's exactly what we did! In this article, we'll be introducing our latest experiment in the field of education: a full C++ course in a conversational format with an AI program. This is a first of its kind, and we're excited to share the journey with you.

The course is designed to take someone who has never written a line of code before to a level where they can write complex programs. The AI program provided the full course outline for the student to follow, and the conversation between the student and the AI teacher was logged and made into a series of books, which can be used to learn or as an example to follow for others in their own field where the approach is applicable.

Using AI in education is not a new concept, but the conversational format is. The AI program provides instant feedback and clarification, making the learning process more efficient and personalized. The conversational format also creates a more engaging and interactive learning experience, as the student can ask questions and receive immediate answers.

Our student was a first-time programmer, and the journey was not without its challenges. However, the LLM (Large Language Model) AI program was there to help, providing guidance and support every step of the way. The student was able to complete interactive exercises and pass various tests, giving them hands-on experience in the language.

While we are confident in the benefits of the conversational format, it is important to remember that this is still an experiment. The open-ended nature of the results means that we can't predict exactly what the outcome will be, but we're excited to find out. We believe that everyone should have access to quality education, regardless of their background or experience level. That's why we're encouraging others to try the conversational format for themselves and share their experiences with the world.

In conclusion, we're thrilled to be at the forefront of the integration of AI in higher education. By trying something new and being open-minded, we're paving the way for a future where education is accessible, personalized, and efficient. Join us on the cutting-edge of education and programming, and see what the future holds.
